Why call it parēlion knot?

On a cold winter Sunday in North Bay, Ontario, I stepped outside 22 Wing’s Queen of Peace Chapel and saw something I have never seen before, an amazing parēlion and rainbow. My arm was in a sling, recovering from a surgery that I wasn’t sure would correct a nerve injury that had left my dominant hand almost unusable. I won’t go into the science of a parēlion, but it means ‘beside the sun’; Seeing it left a huge impact on me, that you can be given such a gift when life is at its coldest and lowest. The knot in parēlion knot is simply that much of my small work has knots, that even though I intentionally make so many, they are also the most annoying and close to impossible things to unravel. Inside many of us, we carry our own knots and we try to find the things that can unravel them and make us happy.

It’s Time..

sorry for the wait.

I’ve always loved to draw and paint, I continued those studies in University where I completed a BAH in French & Visual Arts and a Bachelors in Education in the same subjects. I spent some time teaching at every grade level and then taught a few years at the Secondary level; I fell in love with sharing the joys of making Art and being a part of the Creation of Art. My husband joined the RCAF and since then we’ve moved often and have lived in 3 different provinces. I’ve been to many wonderful places and have been blessed with meeting amazing people. Through raising 3 girls and many moves I never stopped painting and planning out small crafts, I believe now is the time I can focus on a dream of sharing my work on a proper platform. Please keep in mind everything you see here is handmade by me, I am always learning new things and ways to improve.
